• Appearance: Around 5'7 in height. Easily recognizable with Cleft Palate and Severe Underbite.

Cause for Concern: 

• Joseph Ruby aka THE PINOY TINDER SWINDLER presents himself as someone who he isn't. He uses this carefully curated persona of his to lure in victims with the guise of establishing a relationship or friendship. Once roped in he will take advantage of this relationship financially. He has been known to "borrow" large amounts of money that he has no intention of returning, embellish his achievements/resume in order to get work opportunities, has been accused of theft by many sources, has been accused of harassment by several sources, and has a history of overstaying in people's homes.
• Posing as someone wealthy and capable, he tries to establish relationships with others (this could be through dating and/or social media sites like bumble, tinder, Instagram, and Facebook) then cons them out of their money. He has been accused by several sources of harassment, theft, and overstaying (please refer to Modus section for more information). In reality, Joseph Ruby has little to no financial means or ability to pay back his victims.
• Joe Ruby has been known to make the following claims:
• Grew up in the UK - This is false. Based on passport data and family sources this can not be verified. Some sources believe his British accent to be fake.
• Lists South Forbes as Present Address - Upon investigation, this is false. He does not reside in this address and efforts to report this to South Forbes Security are currently underway. Joseph Ruby claims this to appear wealthier than he is.
• Has Financial Means - Outstanding debts by multiple sources prove poor financial means.
• Known to embellish past experiences in his resume in order to apply for work opportunities.

He can provide no evidence to support this claim. 
His passport history does not indicate this as well. 

Modus Operandi: 

Joseph Ruby poses as a wealthy and capable person.  He curates his persona based on the liking of his potential victims.  He presents himself as someone who grew up in the UK (Has a British accent that some sources believe to be fake), someone who lives in a wealthy neighborhood and has a wealthy background, and as someone who has established several businesses in the Philippines. 

He sources potential victims through various means but more often than not, via social media and/or dating apps.  He then infiltrates his victim's network by associating himself with her friends.   When questioned about his history or why he has no friends, Joseph Ruby will claim that a lot of people have turned their backs on him and will usually present a very inaccurate sob story with false information.  He will often claim he was romantically committed to people that have actually rejected him. 

He will frequently ask to borrow money from people and their friends after gaining their trust, or impose that he needs a place to stay.  He will present a sob story that he: 

    1) Lost access to his savings/trading account 

    2) Can not get any job because his former employers keep sabotaging him. 
    3) He got kicked out by his mother and needs a place to stay temporarily. 

Once cornered, he will promise to pay back funds through the following means.  Asper sources the assets and/or accounts he claims he has are non-existent.  
    1) Selling assets he does not have (IE: Condominium unit) 

    2) Regains access to his trading account (There are no funds in his trading account.)

• The initial introduction to me was in 2016.

• Introduced himself as a cook, barista, and a banker

• 3 days in requested for cash to stay for a few more nights. I obliged.

• Provided some assistance in making a sandwich. 

• The event did not yield enough for him to cover costs. 

• This led to embarrassment to the hosts and the people who joined the event.

• Overwhelming opinions from those close to him alluded that he was at fault.

• After seeing he had no intention of moving out and becoming independent, he wore out his welcome and moved.

• The source claimed that she had to get outside help to get her keys back as Joe refused to surrender them to her.

• Accused of harassment. The source claimed Joseph Ruby tried to push a relationship onto her - even calling her his girlfriend when there was no agreement or commitment from her side.

2018

• Indications of defrauding from a number of online relationships.

• Sources say he tried to defraud several women through online means including a foreign Thai woman by asking her to purchase an apartment under his name. The source said fake deposit slips that were altered on photoshop were sent to this woman to make her believe he had transferred funds to her account.

2019

• Accused of severe harassment and fraud from someone he said he claimed he had a relationship with. The source claims he tried to push a relationship onto her, but there was no commitment or agreement from her end.

2020-2021

• Has still not paid the balance of his debts.

• Several friends of Joe have claimed that they lent him money with the agreement that he would pay them back. They were not paid back.

2021-2022

• Current Facebook data suggests he is currently looking for work opportunities in the USA.
• Current Facebook data suggests he has gotten engaged. Not sure of the status of engagement.
• He has still not settled his debts.
